The Old Port of Chania, is a real “jewel” of Chania town and all Crete. Built by the Venetians (which is why it is also known as the Venetian Port) at the 14th century, it was an important station for the Venetian navy during the Venetian occupation and one of the most important commercial ports in the eastern Mediterranean.
From the Maritime Museum from the west to the Neorio Moro at the east, you can enjoy a walk all times of the day. Early in the morning, at noon or late at the night, you will never get bored of it. In each step the Egyptian lighthouse is following you and you lose it only when you get lost in the several alleys of the area until you see it suddenly again when you are out.
